Computer, Science Labs and BYOx

Our Science laboratories were completely refurbished in 2017 and our computer labs are continually being updated with the latest ‘state of the art’ computers and network equipment. 

ICT technical and science officers are employed to repair, maintain, develop and assist both students, teachers and support staff with the delivery of teaching and learning. 
 
Students are provided with:  
  • Six computer labs containing 28 computers each.
  • STEM facilities and programs.
  • Printing facilities including mono/colour printers, 3D printers and a laser cutter.
  • Seven laptop trolleys distributed throughout the school; three located in our Junior-Secondary department.
  • Lessons delivered with high definition audio and visual equipment.
  • Up to date software allowing the development of audio-visual, engineering and computer skills.
  • Data file/storage (NB: Students are responsible to maintain a personal backup of all their work. USB drives are on every student’s booklist for this purpose).
  • An EQ email address for the submission of assignments and other tasks as directed by their teacher.
  • Significant electronic resources including World Book Online, ClickView, the Learning Place, and e-Library.
  • Safe and secure access to the intra/internet and learning resources.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOx)

 
Network access will be made available to Year 10 & 11 student’s personal devices from Term 4 of 2017.
 
Access will be provided to all Year 10, 11 and 12 students in 2018.
 
Access to the BYOx network will first require the following documents to be presented to the ICT Support Department (located in C Block): 
  • a signed Computer, Network and Internet Agreement form. (Please note: All students must have completed this form to access any computers or networks in the school).
  • a signed ‘Responsible use agreement’ which is located at the rear of the Student BYOx Charter.
  • a receipt for the connection fee payment which is to made at the Administration Office.

Free Software
