The Woree State High School Resource Centre offers students access to a comprehensive list of both print and digital resources. Students are able to come to the library both before school and during lunchtimes to borrow books (both fiction and non-fiction), use computers for schoolwork, complete homework or play chess.
The Resource Centre is open from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM each school day and is staffed by a fully qualified teacher librarian. Text books are handed out to students from the Resource Hire window inside the library. Students DO NOT need an ID card to get their textbooks. Snap lock bags are available for 20c from the Resource Hire window to protect the books that your student has on loan.
The library catalogue is available online on both home computers and mobile devices, providing they have access to the internet. The address for the online library catalogue is:
http://woreeshs.cmeweb.libcode.com.au
This catalogue enables students to browse both the actual titles contained in the library as well as searching the internet to access online digital resources. The catalogue also provides links to Encyclopaedia Britannica, Clickview Online (educational videos), Student Resources in Context (a database for seniors that has links to online reference books and academic journals), referencing assistance and much more.
Students are also able to borrow ebooks and audio books. These electronic files are able to be downloaded onto student mobile devices. Username and password information is available on page 2 of the student diary.
