The Australian curriculum is fully implemented from Year 7 to Year 10 in Health and Physical Education (HPE).
In Years 8, 9 and 10 students have the opportunity to select either the Rugby League Engagement Program or Volleyball Development Program – which follows the Australian curriculum and focuses on Rugby League or Volleyball as the practical components of the subject.
In Year 10 HPE is split into two components:
In Year 10 students can elect to study Extension Health and Physical Education which prepares them for the general subject Physical Education (ATAR), in Year 11 and 12.
The Year 7 – 10 HPE curriculum provides students with the knowledge, experience and skills required to select either Sport and Recreation, Physical Education, Certificate III in Health Support Services and Certificate III in Fitness in Year 11 and 12.
The Health and Physical Education department also delivers the Resilience Project to all students. This program has been designed to develop mentally healthy students.
The department also benefits from the involvement of numerous coaches in our extracurricular and sport development programs:
Rugby League
Rugby Union
Hockey
AFL
Cross Country
Athletics
Soccer
Netball
Volleyball
Touch Football
Health and Physical Education staff are located in the R Block staffroom.
